Introduction

The purpose of this Line Manager's guide for the Commercial Awareness and Practitioner Programme (CAPP) is to provide a common set of criteria in supporting staff undertaking the CAPP. The guidance is not comprehensive but more of a means of awareness for Line Manager's in assisting discussions with those who wish to undertake CAPP.

Background

Defence Academy College of Management and Technology (DA-CMT) used its e-Learning strategy and methodology "Setting Your Own Agenda" in the redevelopment of the classroom based Commercial Practice 1 and 2 courses to a blended learning solution.  The blended learning solution can be achieved through a combination of e-learning followed by activity based workshops to enhance and reinforce the competences required of commercial officers in practice.
