| In the MOD Whole Life Costing (WLC) is defined as the continuous process of forecasting, recording and managing costs throughout the life of an equipment with the specific aim of optimising its military output. |
| The integrated costed programme or Resource Breakdown Structure that is the source of all financial management information for the project. It is the primary tool for through life project accounting and output costing. It informs both the Whole Life Costing and the in-year budget management processes. |
