Developing the Commercial Perspective at Capability Management Group (CMG) Level

The Commercial Perspective at Capability Management Group (CMG) level is an analysis of the commercial opportunities and constraints facing the CMG.

What should the analysis include?

  • Why the projects listed are of commercial interest to the CMG?
  • A brief description of commercial commitment.
  • What innovative approaches can be or are being taken to existing and future programmes across the cluster that have commercial opportunities to achieve better Value for Money?
  • Are there new commercial opportunities that can be exploited to deliver better Value for Money?
  • How do existing commitments within the cluster constrain the CMG – if so how flexible are these?
  • Are there any decision points imminent that will constrain the CMG decision making – if so how flexible are these?

The Commercial Perspective report

The Commercial Perspective report at the CMG level should be written by representatives from Director of Equipment Capability with relevant Director General (DG) cluster staff.

It should follow the format illustrated below.
