Course Title Aim Description
TLCM Practitioner This is a 4-day attendance course to prepare members of the MOD Unified Customer DCDS(Capability); Front Line Commands; Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S); Defence Science and Technology (DST) and MOD Centre) and other Personnel (including Industry) for employment in Capability Management. TLCM Practitioner is an interactive course which brings together all members of the MOD Unified Customer (plus Industry) in one forum and covers the: who; what; when; why and with whom, of Capability Management. The course specifically concentrates on the roles and responsibilities of personnel involved in Capability Management, the 5 Capability Management perspectives, the reasons and behaviours required for effective TLCM and the management structures involved in Capability Planning, Capability Delivery and Capability Generation.
TLCM Advanced This is a 5-day attendance course to prepare leaders and key members of capability management for a e.g. Capability Management Group (CMG), Capability Planning Group (CPG), Programme Board (PB), Capability Integration Group (CIG) with the detailed Through Life Capability Management (TLCM) process knowledge and higher level thinking skills necessary to perform their roles. Through examination of the capability–based approach adopted by the MOD, the course identifies the leadership challenges and opportunities facing those responsible, at whatever level, for the effective implementation of capability management.
