System Readiness Levels (SRLs) at Decision Points

The SRL assessment not only focuses on the maturity achieved but also identifies the risks that threaten the project’s Planning Assumption for Service Entry (PASE) or In-Service Date (ISD).

At Main Gate the evidence should generally be enough to support SRL4, again across all systems disciplines.

SRL assessments must be evidence based and traceable to project documentation, for example: requirements: Acceptance plans and project risk plans, since these are the key sources of evidence to support the SRL claims. These plans should show work required to mature the project to each SRL level.

Declaration of ISD will normally demand evidence to support SRL8 or above.
