Support Solutions Envelope (SSE) Tailoring GuideScopeThe SSE Tailoring Guide [95KB DOC] has been produced to help Support Solutions Officers (SSO) and project teams identify the applicability of the Support Solutions Envelope (SSE) Governing Policies (GPs) to a specific project. Use of the SSE should be tailored to meet the requirements of any project (including UORs) regardless of its procurement category. AuthorityOn 4 September 07, the Through Life Support Assurance Working Group confirmed the requirement for a Filtering Tool (currently referred to as the Tailoring Guide). The format and content of this SSE version 5 guide was confirmed by the SSE Working Group on 03 September 2008. Tailoring GuidanceIf the answer to any of the Tailoring Guide questions is “yes”, or the project is too immature to determine the answer, the GP should be considered to be applicable. If any GP is considered to be Not Applicable, brief details of the reason for this assessment are to be recorded in the Project’s SSE Compliance Tool and forwarded to the Key Support Area (KSA) owner’s representative for agreement. If further guidance on applicability is required by the SSO, the GP Subject Matter Expert (SME) or KSA owner’s representative is to be consulted. If the SSO and SME cannot come to an agreement, the issue is to be represented to the appropriate KSA owner’s representative who will make the final decision. Note: If it is decided to extend an UOR into a supported in-service project, then the SSE Process (including GP Tailoring) must be repeated in full. Sponsoring Authority
