Defence Quality Assurance AuthorityRole and responsibilityThe Defence Quality Assurance Authority (DQAA) is the Director General Safety and Engineering (DGS&E), who operates under a letter of delegation from the Chief of Defence Materiel (CDM). The DQAA is the professional head of the Quality Assurance (QA) function within the MOD, and is the MOD authority on matters of policy and professional standards pertaining to quality and its assurance for all MOD procurement across a contractual boundary. The DQAA is also the National Quality Assurance Authority (NQAA); the authority, in a country, responsible for the operational implementation of Government Quality Assurance (GQA). The Assistant Director of Defence Quality Assurance Policy (S&E DQAPol AD) leads a small team of quality professionals who act as the DQAA's executive arm. Consultation and communicationThe DQAA has the responsibility of consulting with stakeholders, both internally and externally to the MOD in order to develop and improve policy, processes and standards.
