Human Factors Integration Working Group (HFI WG)

What is HFI WG ?

The Human Factors Integration Working Group (HFI WG) is responsible for the management or execution of the human factors integration programme. This is achieved through a Human Factors Integration Plan (HFIP).

The HFI WG consists of stakeholders, subject matter experts, and solution provider human factors staff. The HFI WG meets at regular intervals matched to the tempo of the project and the scale and significance of HFI activities.

What should HFI WG produce?

The HFI WG should produce a completed HFIP.

How is HFI WG managed?

The HFI WG is usually chaired by the lead human factors engineer. Once terms of reference are agreed an initial meeting will be held with roles, responsibilities and reporting mechanisms finalised. Regular meetings should be agreed along with a method for tracking human factors issues.

When should HFI WG be formed?

The HFI WG is established at the earliest possible stage of the project and continues its work until the customer accepts the solutions.

What topics impact HFI WG?

The HFI WG will oversee technical matters arising from the implementation of the HFIP. The HF issues log will also be an important input as will the Integrated Test and Evaluation Plan (ITEAP).
