Performance Management

The purpose of Acquisition performance management is to support the overall vision of providing battle-winning capability for Defence and Value for Money for the Taxpayer.

Performance is assessed through the Acquisition Performance Framework with the following four perspectives:

  1. Output. Our capability is highly responsive to operations and Departmental objectives and is underpinned by more realistic and flexible capability planning.
  2. People. Our people have the ‘skill and will’ to deliver, are employed to best effect, are encouraged to develop and improve and demonstrate our core values and behaviours.
  3. Process. Our through life acquisition processes are agile, efficient, consistently applied and continuously improving.
  4. Industry. Our relationship with industry is transformed and we build a reputation for delivery.

The purpose of this framework is to provide a set of performance metrics which help management address acquisition issues and focus on the implementation of Through Life Capability Management.

These high level metrics are aimed at the overall system and complement those being used to monitor individual parts of the acquisition system.

This performance management regime is continually developing, to reflect improvements in the acquisition system.
