In-service Equipment Support, Commodities and Service Delivery

The transfer of programming responsibility from the Capability Sponsor to the User must be seamless. This can only be achieved if the Equipment and Support project is considered a through life activity with the User and Capability Sponsor sharing ownership.

The programme and project plans are used to support the role of the Chiefs of Materiel (CofMs) within Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S). They translate capability needs identified by the Capability Sponsor into the operational readiness and sustainability needs of the User.

The Assistant Chief of Defence Staff (Logistics Operations) (ACDS(Log Ops)) continues to provide logistics input to Defence commitments planning.

The Director General Supply Chain continues to be responsible for optimising the performance of the Defence Supply Chain, ensuring that it is aligned to User priorities and delivers Military effectiveness and logistics efficiency.

The User retains access to those directly responsible within the DE&S for commodity provision, services and logistic supply chain management.
