Leadership of Capability Integration across all Defence Lines of Development

The User is responsible for Capability Integration of in-service equipment. They make sure that all of the Defence Lines of Development (DLoDs) are integrated, within the resources provided. The end result is the provision of the Force Elements at Readiness/Sustainment (FE@R/S) to an agreed Defence Plan (service management plan).

A continuing issue regarding DLoD integration is the need to make sure that wider interoperability with each of the other services occurs. This role will be delivered through Capability Integration Groups chaired by the User.

For new capabilities, the Capability Sponsor or Senior Responsible Owner (SRO) is accountable for the delivery of Military Capability which has been integrated across all DLoDs. The User has a supporting role in this aspect but will lead on a number of the DLoDs.

Capability Integration for new capabilities will be carried out under the direction of Programme Boards which use a dedicated Capability Integration Working Group.
