The Structure of the Capability SponsorThe Joint Capabilities Board (JCB) leads the Capability Sponsor. The JCB provides strategic leadership and direction, in order to deliver a balanced, coherent and affordable Capability Sponsor Plan to meet MOD policy requirements. Beneath the JCB, Heads of Capability (HoCs) are responsible for discrete capability areas. They define capability requirements and identify equipment-based options that are coherent across all Defence Lines of Development (DLoDs). The HoCs make sure that capability change planning is conducted effectively. There are three other key 1 star areas within the Capability Sponsor:
