The Governance of Defence Estates (DE)
The Defence Estates Committee (DEC) oversees the performance of DE and its relationship with Customer Top Level Budgets (TLBs).
The role of the DEC is to:
- Act on behalf of the Defence Management Board (DMB) in developing policy for the estate.
- Direct the implementation of that policy, associated strategies and set investment priorities.
- Recommend areas for re-balancing in the planning round.
The DEC ensures an estate of the right size and shape to meet evolving Defence requirements.

The AOF has been updated to Version 2.0.0 on 1st April 2008 following the introduction of the main content in the tactical layer. In addition small changes have been added to the Operational layer.
