The high level principles and information that guide how the UK MOD Defence Acquisition Community works

version 2.0.21 – March 2010

Content

The AOF Operational Layer

The AOF has three layers, each serving a specific purpose with different levels of detail.

The Operational layer provides detail on:

  • The acquisition community structure, roles and responsibilities.
  • How we manage and develop our people.
  • The information, guidance and instruction that sets out how we conduct acquisition business.

The Operational layer is an important source of information for the acquisition community. Its purpose is to provide a ‘check list’ of key principles and processes, including those that are mandated, across acquisition business.
